what makes the cut
Not every suggestion makes it in, I'm going for a smaller set of really good and reasonably deep ones.
What I look for:
- Primarily about films, series, or both
- Covering specific titles, and doing it often
- Film or series title present in the episode title (otherwise my indexing can't do its magic)
- Deep discussion, longer than a quick take, usually more than ~20 min spent talking about the film or series
- Established enough to be findable in Apple Podcasts or Spotify
Even when a podcast ticks every box there's a little bit of human judgment on top (by me). The goal is a small, useful and really good library, not a comprehensive one.
